Looking for some ideas, the Becker collection is getting bigger (and I don't expect that to stop) and I need to figure out a good way to store them

I've considered using one of those magnet strips I see a lot of people use but I'm not a big fan since you can't keep the sheath with the knife

Any pics are helpful

I keep mine in a Pelican case; but I'm pretty sure I still only have 5 or 6 Beckers. (I used to only have 3... but I bought a couple more)

I like the peg board method

Combine the two. Put up your pegboard, mount the mag-strip to it. Use the mag-strip to hold the blades in open display and hang the sheath for it from the pegboard below its knife, or from a communal sheath hanger, where you pick the sheath you use that day.

The knives are all readily available for use, they are displayed for bragging purposes :D, and the sheaths are available as needed. This is the setup I am working toward, but other stuff keeps getting in the way.

I currently use a 2 tier approach. If the knife is a user (and not kept in the house), I hang the knife in its sheath from pegboard hooks. My not-in-use Beckers are in their boxes in plastic tubs with moth balls (to keep silverfish, roaches, mice, rats and other creatures out of them) and silica gel crystal packs to keep the moisture levels in the boxes down.

I use a 3 drawer Husky tool box.
It fills up quick though...

The users are in soft-sided toolbags from Harbor Frieght.

The safe queens are in their boxes in the 'safe' (guest bedroom closet).

Storage?! I just edc all of mine everyday on my belt. A skirt of steel!

(Just kidding they're in a Rubbermaid tote.)

Husky tool box here too, the kind that sits on top of a rolling larger tool box. Started out with knives all nicely lined up in each drawer out of sheaths and sheaths in another drawer. Now sheaths are all in another container. Tool box is now filled up though, time to go bigger.

I'm kinda with you.

Users are stored in a tool bag, in their sheaths. Customs sheaths are stored nearby in a plastic bag. No knives kept in or near leather sheaths.

Keepers, or Safe Queens as some may call them, are kept in their boxes in a dedicated cabinet in my home office. All uncoated edges and surfaces are coated with mineral oil.

Keep everything boxed in a cabinet: users to left with keepers on the right. Brands are grouped together on separate shelves - BK&Ts have 2 shelves - with model labels facing outwards for easy reference. Knives that didn't come in a box get a generic white one with contents written on the side facing out.

I use the disorder method. All of my users are, ummm......somewhere. Mostly in a tool bag or three. Lotsa folders in the folder bags, mostly. I stash them everywhere so I can be surprised - when I find one I haven't used in a while, it's like running into an old friend. VERY few are still in boxes. I don't really have safe queens - but a few haven't been used....yet. I would certainly LIKE to get them all organized and in one place, but that would take more time, effort and money than I'm willing to invest. Or can muster. Did I mention I'm chronically disorganized?

It's a huge problem. Ask Tradewater for an answer. He apparently invented storage.

My folders are neatly kept in an old four drawer art chest. After 25 plus years, i still havent figured out where to put fixed blades. Most are scattered in any of the following: bedroom closet, closet floor, dining room banquette, usually a couple in my work bag. Hell, i have one or two on my tie rack..you get the idea.

I like the art chest for the folders. I would like to get an old wood tool chest to do the same for the fixed.

Funny you should bring this up, as I am working on storage solutions now. I have been using a filing cabinet and am working on felt lined boards that I found to go inside the drawers. However, mid project, I acquired a glass door display case designed for a guitar. I am considering pegboard on the back wall, or something similar to hang them where they can be seen and retrieved easily. I keep all boxes, so I'll continue to store those in the filing cabinet regardless.

My duplicate 5 and 15 are in boxes awaiting deployment. 4's down there too, right now, until I can figure what to do with it.
20's hanging from pegboard with the yard/garden tools.
11, 15, and 5 stashed next to the BBQ tools.
24, 16, 7 and 9 in the toolbox.
I keep 'em where I need 'em.

What's all this talk about folders? I'm still looking for a Becker folder...
