Finally stripped down the BK2 and gave it a new lanyard. Stripped the 11 and a new wrap as well. Only stripped the blade on the new ESKABAR from Ethan and gave it a wrap job. No fancy patinas, just forced a little with vinegar and then cleaned and oiled everything. Will let time and toil patina these blades.

Really happy with the stripped 2 - that will be a first step with any new big BKT's in my house.

Also, a tiny Spyderco sneaked into the pic....

Stripper gel, I suppose. Can be had at every Home Improvement store. Go for it, it's easy, fun, and makes your blade look great. It was the first thing I did when my 9 got here.

take care

Quick question guys. Just got a BK2 and like the look of a stripped knife. My only concern is I am kind of a heavy duty camper , and do alot of winter camping with snow and such. Does the stripped version rust alot faster? Is it safer to leave the coating on?

Nothing that a coat of oil or WD-40 or similar won't protect against. Don't forget, the edge is already bare and you need to protect it whether or not you strip the rest of the blade. You just have to use a little more to coat a whole, stripped blade.
