I am looking for my first necker type knife. I found these two at a similar price point. Anyone have a recommendation between the two or is neither one worth buying (if so, what would you recommend)?

If your talking about the Becker Necker vs the Benchmade Instigator, I have both and the Becker would be the one I would keep over the Benchmade.

For the record, the Instigator is chisel ground.

I'd say go for the BK-11. I've got one and couldn't be happier with it, considering the price.

If you have another $20 to spend, you might also consider the RAT Izula (someone had to say it!)
I don't have one yet, but it will almost surely be my next purchase. It has almost a cult-like following around here and probably for good reason.

Maybe go for whichever has the type of ergonomics you prefer?

If I purchased a RAT Izula would you recommend just the knife and sheath or the complete kit? I don't think I am going to use it in a wilderness survial situation, just as a backup EDC.

If that's the case, just get the knife and sheath. That's all I got with both my Izula's.

Your first choice was between the Becker and the Benchmade, but if your open to the Izula, you can't go wrong with one!

Of the Three...the Rat Cutlery Izula looks to be the best of the bunch. Necker, otherwise.
