I was disposing of some Black Sage plants in the yard, finishing up around dusk today. The 4 was making quick work of the project, and then I went a little too hard through the target and threw some sparks off the ground. Plants are a little squishy for sparking naturally, so I got down to look and found that a concrete paver had been sitting at the base of that plant for some reason--I blame the kids. My older boy thought the sparks were really cool and wanted me to do it again, which I opted not to, but I did finish cutting out the shrub. Once I got a chance to inspect the edge, there was a little bit of chipping that I really had to work to find. It wasn't my hardest swing, but I hit that piece of concrete with enough force that I was expecting some moderate to serious damage. I am seriously impressed at the way the 4 shrugged off the whole thing, and 15 minutes of sharpening had everything back in fine trim. Mr. Becker makes some fine tools.
