Becker Knife & Tool, COMBAT / UTILITY KNIFE

versus

KaBar Next Generation

I have narrowed my choice down for my final purchase between these two knives. I am interested to hear which knife you would pick and why.

Thank you,

The Ka-Bar Next Gen will resist corrosive forces better than the Becker. The Ka-Bar has the options of serrations. If you prefer kydex over nylon, then the ka-bar wins.

Other than that, I take the Becker to be a better chopper, a better slicer (due to geometry) and I'd prefer it in a fight.

All in all, I'd go with the Becker. The Ka-Bar is an awesome design that is time proven, but I believe the Becker is a direct improvement and should take the kabar's place.

If you're talking about the Becker 7" combat utility vs. the Kabar in D2 then I say you win either way. Own both and they are each excellent:)

For the money you spend I haven't seen anything yet that will beat the Becker. Even with the good chopping ability of the BK9 the grind still makes it an excellent slicer. They work - period.

I like the Kabar handles much better than the Becker handles, which to me are too slippery.

Also, as a fighter wouldn't the Kabar be a bit better? I say this because the front part of the upper edge is sharpened, so it ought to be better for stabbing.

Beck: If the clip has a false edge it would perform similarly if you really have to stab.
However, I think the Becker is much more capable than the standard ka-bar patterns with its much thinner stock.
