Becker warranty?

I've seen some Camillus 9's break, and they were replaced.

KA-BAR makes the new Beckers, but Ethan has been very generous in his replacement of old Becker knives made by other Manufacturers

Does BK&T still warranty the Camillus Beckers? :o

strictly speaking, the warranty would be with Camillus alone. which went out of business, and reincarnated by ACME. you could contact them, but probably they will say "no"

as they latest maker, KaBar does not honor the warranty. it's not their product.

for genuine issues, Ethan Becker himself has been known to. if you pull a Noss, then unlikely anything will be covered (that means intentional abuse).

as Ethan is currently at SHOT SHOW, he is unlikely to respond to this in a timely manner for at least a week.

if you have an issue, do please tell your story, with pictures.

thanks

It isn't a huge deal. I have a broken tooth on my serrated edge. The knife edge is pretty close to "like new" and this weird chip. Even the coating is chipped off. Why only one tooth?
No worries- I can live with it.

what were you doing with the knife? sawing through wood or something? batoning?

just sharpen it out. that's not really a warranty issue, imho. use and sharpening issue. serrations DO wear down without care.

now, if you had a blow out, or broke the blade, then we're talking.

That's what I figured. I am not a huge fan of serrations--especially on a big knife. I'll live with it for now. I sharpened it up last night- figured I was being a sissy about it! Thank you for all of your replies!

From what I've seen on here and other places, they most always take care of everyone.

I returned a BK11, but I returned it to Amazon, not sure if they'll just send it to someone else or something. I bought it's replacement from TKC.

If nothing else you could call them and they could put your mind at ease about it. Probably a busy week with the SHOT show, though.

I guess not.....

Thank you for contacting KA-BAR Knives!

Unfortunately, KA-BAR does not warranty knives manufactured by Camillus. If you have any further questions please contact customer service again.

Thank you and have a great day,

It doesn't matter- it is stupid of me to worry about such a minor thing.

well, as previously mentioned... a) it's not KaBar's problem or committment b) Ethan, in his infitnite wisdom *personally* covers things as he sees fit, because his name is on it...

Ethan is also at SHOT SHOW... he's ... busy :D

when he sees this, since the blade is not broken, he might offer to have it sharpened for you.

a generous forumite might as well.

but if you have the right tools, ..., just sharpen it out. no biggy.

if you fullly, truly, hate it: sell it. it will sell. in a blink. people always be wanting that stuff for projects.

me? i'd probably remove the serrations, put a scandi grind in that spot. call it a weird Tracker :D drill a forward lanyard hole too :D
