Becker Warranty

I did a search but could not come up with anything definitive. What is the warranty on the BK-2? When I contacted Ka-Bar with a warranty question about the Foliage Green Fighting/Utility Knife their response was not very clear. So being that Ka-Bar sells the Becker line, I was hoping someone could give me some information about their warranty.

For example, ESEE has an unconditional no questions asked warranty. What does Ka-Bar/Becker offer? I have no intention on destroying my knife, but would like to have the piece of mind that if it fails, I can have it replaced.

Depends on what you were doing when it broke. So far, as far as BKT line goes, I've seen Kabar replace a knife that was thrown, one that was batonned into frozen wood, had uneven grinds, and a few others, honestly, if you have a problem, I'm sure Toooj and Kabar will work with you to resolve it. If you take blow torch or band saw to your knife, I don't think they would replace it. Then again, I don't know, I don't work for Kabar.

Toooj is on here almost daily, I'm sure he will chime in, but I have yet to see a problem with a knife that Kabar didn't fix.

Well Ive luckily never had to take advantage of the warranty, but like moose says I havnt seen anyone come here with a problem and not get almost instant attention from Tooj or The Man himself. I dont think Id call it a " no questions asked " warranty, more like the right questions asked warranty. Ive also heard Tooj is a steel csi and liars are severely punished ie forced to use ESEE's forevermore lol.
 
if you stick your Becker in a vise, for any reason, The Man will cry... that's just WRONG :) also, don't stick your knife in a vise either :)

other than that, as the old literature said "you had better have a GOOD story"...
 
They seem to stand behind thier product, but do not invite folks to go beat the piss out of them for the hell of it.

The KA-BAR warranty is to replace any defect that has not been caused by abuse.
The term "abuse" can be a vague term. And we use it accordingly. We are fairly easy to deal with. Be honest, polite and it will be replaced. Wanton distruction displayed by Cliff Stamp, Noss and others won't get you a new knife. (At least TAG didn't want a replacement. Although my sphincter ring was as tight as a steel bar watching that vid.)

So, shooting a necker out of a spud gun would be covered? Just checking. Not like I'd ever do that or anything. Just curious.

Sorry Qeth,

But I hope everyone was like that watching TAG's video. But TAG did prove a couple of points...That ESEE and Beckers are both tough as hell and one doesn't have to pay astronomical prices for good knives.

Thanks for the info. So if I were to break the blade fighting off a zombie Tyrannosaurs Rex it should be good to go if I am polite. That is excellent info.

It is very good to see actual Ka-Bar folk responding.
