andToooj said:Okay; Since the cat is out of the bag: These are the left over BK-10 blanks from Camillus. Made from 0170-6/CarbonV/0170-6C/1095CV. Basically the same stuff. The other guy and myself had to rent a U-Haul truck and carry these (along with a lot of other stuff) back to Olean from Camillus. Ethan followed with more in his Great White Whale. The Camillus Auction was a great but sad time. Sort of like attending a wake. Lots of good rememberances. Saw a lot of great knife people there....anyway back to task.
The blanks were stamped, heat treated (martempered) and ground. We started with 200 pieces but after processing we are down to 185. They were on the truck headed for powder coating when the other guy and I intercepted the lot. It was unloaded and now they are in my office. We plan on NOT powdercoating them as the vast majority of you strip it off anyway and do your "thing" with the steel surface. They are getting sharpened today. We are planning on giving both Grivory and Micarta handles with the knife. It will most likely have the green Camillus Cordura Sheath. But I'm sure the BeckerHeads will sheath up with whatever is their desire.
The Mods have been busy and they will make things happen.
Okay. That is it in a nut shell. Hope this helps.
PS: Guyon...nice hat.

Toooj said:The raw blanks had been in the warehouse for several years while we schemed about what to do with them. The Becker Forums have been very good for KA-BAR and we wanted to give you guys a special treat...same as with the BK-77 closeout.
We typically lose some blades during the setup of the various manufacturing processes. We also know that some of them end up in the hands of the various workers. As far as quality; the blades look very good...straight, grinds are even.
Yeah...sorry no rust coverage but that doesn't seem to be an issue with most of the BeckerHeads.
How's that sound Beckerheads?
