Hello All!
After a summer of backpacking various mountains across the country, I now have two blades I won't leave home without. If I'm with a pal, I'll carry one and my friend will have the other ... if I'm by myself and I have to choose, I crawl into a small cave and call a therapist because I just can't decide which to strap to my pack. The first ... the infamous bk-9. Love that knife, I've owned one now for ~8 years (camillus version) and had actually saved my bacon on several trip where the weather turned unexpectedly cold on me and needed to make a fire ... Quick. And a moment of silence for the heads that have fallen at the hands of the bk-9 for rabbit stew. Yum.
The new kid on the block? The Hoodlum. Light, capable and great conversation piece on the trail! Didn't get into a situation this year where I needed it to save my bacon ... but definitely helped get some cooked this summer!
I'm curious if any other beckerheads have the hoodlum and that you think if the knife?
Next years knife? Machax!
Finally to Ethan, Thank you for the great products you've made possible for the normal guy like us, there are some great blades out there, but you've made some killer and capable products without requiring the removal of a limb to pay for. I greatly appreciate this because I need my limbs for hiking!
