My first becker was a 7 then came the 10 and on to the 9. The 7&9 had perfect grind lines while the 10 is way off on the grind lines but it is one of my favorites i have ever owned! The 9 chops well and the 10 cuts well and can be batoned although not as easily as the 7 or 9. they all work well in the kitchen too but the 10 gets the nod in the kitchen. I did discover while clearing overhanging willow limbs from over the Beagles pen that if you swing really hard and go through the limb and hit the dog wire that it will readily remove a chip of steel from the edge! I tested all three on treated 4x4's as well as small oaks, hickories and willows and found that none of the woods including the oaks and hickory seem to dull the edge easily. My other hard use knives consists of a cold steel oda and two handed machete and ka-bar's short heavy bowie and standard usmc model and several frosts laminates and standard carbons for the lighter work I also have a large carbon saber point bowie and an old carbon kukri. (No stainless in my hard use battery)I find that although some of these knives especially the kukri can out chop the beckers that since the bk's are easier to tote that it's worth the trade off after trudging up hill all day! I definatley recommend all three of these Beckers to anyone looking for a good camp Utility knife. I obtained all three for a mere $160.00 shipped to my door! that folks is a true bargain.
