has anyone EVER noticed a Becker knife in a movie? seems like silly question, but im also active in the Buck section, and theres pages and pages of examples of a Buck knife making an appearance either on the big screen or a tv show. how about the Beckers?

I was wondering this last night too LOL. My stepson was watching Predators and thought the Machaxe would have looked cool for one of the guys to have been carrying.

I don't think I've ever seen one. Beckers are a working man's knife. Hollywood could care less about the working man.

Trade says there's one halfway into "The Bridges of Madison County", but I'll never know.

true, but there are SOGs in the hurt locker and there's a Cold Steel voyager in many movies I have seen. Both working knives IMO.

SOGs are working knives, just not a working mans knife, to high of a price to mall ninja style ratio.

There have been a lot of BKTs in the movies, the problem is the set designers are just as mod crazy as we are. The Book of Eli knife is clearly a Reinhardt with different scales and some holes drilled in it...

There's a Becker in the beginning of "Debbie Does Dallas". A bunch of em actually, all through the movie.

Someone should strap a BK9 to the front of their tac-vest, like Adrien Brody does with that huge ass TOPS knife in "Predators". Something ridiculous but noticable.

Someone did...I forget who it was, but they had a picture of themselves on patrol in the sandbox with a giant machax a-la-Predators sticking off their shoulder.

I could swear there was an RBK being used in The Hunger Games. The melee scene at the cornucopia, sterile grey blade, and the right handle/blade ratio. Then it was a quick scene and there is a good chance I just saw what I wanted to see.

Its not easy to break blades into Hollywood. Trust me, I know it better than most.

One of the main reasons, is BKT didn't get much "credit" until lately, and by lately, I mean the last 2 years. We have brought BKT to the forefront and folks all over the place are falling in love with them. And why not? What's not to love?

Here's the thing, movie producers and prop masters know what an impact it will have, to have a knife show up in a movie, and they want, and want, and want something for it. Not just a few free knives, oh, no, they want more.

And more, is where the problem is. I can see paying for good advertisement, truly, I can, but what they want, is beyond most. The best way to do it, is to have someone on the inside, willing to make a leap for you.

Then, you hope they land on their feet after that leap, because if they don't, then they are gone. For good. The old expression, "You'll never work in this town again" is as true today, as it was back then. Probably more so.

Iconic knives will get put in movies, well, because they are icons. History has proven them to be "addressable", or, say, time period stamped, so they fit in the movie. Kabar, Saving Private Ryan, BoB, etc.

BKT is an old company, but the love of the blades is new. We need to elevate the BKT Lineup, to legendary status, then, yes then, they will be calling us, wanting us to ALLOW them to put them in the movies.

I've never seen one, but I see it happening sooner rather than later. Sure you can buy your way into anything. BKT knives are becoming prolific enough that there will be prop guys and gun guys who end up working on a set who will say hey I have/saw/know of this really cool knife that would go great here or who'll say "it's what I got...." Darryl's knife in TWD is pretty iconic and instantly recognizable to those who know. Same with BKT knives. Even non BKT knife people recognize them, even if they don't know specific model names or #'s. Plus, because of each brand's uniqueness it's easy to find something even if you don't know anything about it. It's only a matter of time before a Machaxe or 9 shows up in someone's hand on-set somewhere..
