Yesterday, at the suggestion of a different forum I frequent, I downloaded APB Reloaded as a quick pick-up-and-play sort of game to waste some of my down time. The servers have been booting me out at random, but I was playing late last night so I'm hoping it will be better in the day. But I digress.

I've been planning my Enforcer's stratagem, as customization is truly massive in this game. That meant going to their wiki and looking at all the options I can unlock—mostly for outfits and weapons. And everything about your character can be customized in-game, from his vehicle to his war paint.

So guess how shocked I was to see this design for sheath knives in the game.

How wet are clich's panties right now?

I wonder if Ethan had anything to do with this, or if the company was adding a sort of tribute to the BK5's design. I doubt it's a coincidence; that handle has a very distinctive shape about it.

Wow, even video game characters dislike the stock sheaths. Godspeed!, is that your work?

Unfortunately I had nothing to do with this.......I am excited however......very cool...

Cool! This is great for Ethan and Ka-Bar!
She should really have a machax strapped to her back, but the BK5 is good enough!

not if they stole the design and didn't give proper credit and/or $$$...which according to Ethan, he did not know anything about it....

I think it's awesome either way, because even if it does end up in a situation where Ka-Bar has to kindly issue a cease and desist order to the video game company and that ended up in some kind of news somewhere, it could turn a couple hundred more people on to Becker knives that never would have heard about them.

From the looks of it they barely scraped by with keeping it vague enough in shape to not officially say they put a BK-5 in their game, but JUST barely.

If I was going to smite someone with a Becker, the BK-5 would be my second choice.

First choice of course would be the Patrol Machete. It was intended to be used as a smiting tool.

It just vaguely resembles the 5, but I think since all you can see is the last 1/3 of the handle, and the blade outline isn't exactly descriptive, it should be passable, given that the big E himself doesn't see an issue. Then again, I could also see Ethan and the lawyers at KA-BAR disagreeing on a lot of things.

Stuff like this is good press, I don't think anyone will have an issue with a knife in a video game. Most times, payment is made TOO the media outlet for putting stuff in their games.

You think IW and PS payed Remington any money to have their rifles in MW3? Hell no, Remington was more than willing to do it, and if you notice, the Remington logo is clear and precisely located in the middle of the screen. That's good press.

I'm glad to see BKT in some games. Makes me happy, and the more folks that see it, will make Kabar and Ethan happy.

Good press isn't cheap.

Yeah...why would Ka-Bar WANT to stop that? I'm just glad its not a Strider, Busse, or especially Cold Steel.

Yeap, my "Assault" custom setup is the ACR and every game start, in ridiculous detail is "REMINGTON."

On a secondary note, imagine getting a Becker in as the standard "knife" in the next COD? Ask kids today about anything... then ask them about an ACR or a Barrett M82 and they will give you exact specs.
