Wild Turkey that is. Been following this forum since my cousin gave me a Bk9 as a birthday gift a few months ago. A whole new obsession then began and more Beckers have been acquired since. For my first post I thought I would show what the BK2 and BK11 went to work on today (first day of season here.)

And packed away in the freezer for use this weekend:

I thought the BK11 was very well suited to this task. It is quite the skinner. I was very surprised to find the BK2 worked as well as it did. It was wonderful at cutting bigger pieces of hide so that I could fold the feathers away from the meat. Now what to use for the rest of the food prep?

Welcome to the Becker Forum, and Bladeforums, glad you posted up with us.

And now the envy comes out, I've never shot a turkey in the wilds. I have dressed them, just never dropped them. Dammit. :D

Awesome first post, I hope to be seeing more. Stick around, brother, you got chops.

And breast meat, it looks like. :D

Impressive first post.
I haven't had wild turkey for a long time.
Didn't realize that it was the light in color.

Congrats on your turkey you did good. Nice Becker's also.In some Texas county's you are allowed to
kill them in the Fall of the year. Those are the best eating to me.
Thanks for the post.Sorry that it's not a Becker in the picture.I did not have one then.

love the post man. I got too many yuppies on too little public land to bag one. I stalk around before season opens and find roosting patterns and territories but that all goes to hell opening day when everyone and their dad is in the woods. They dont answer calls and more often then not come in quiet and make you long before you ever see them. im glad someone is having luck

Awesome. That a Benelli ? I love my BK11 for skinning.

Good eye! Yep, Benelli M4. Not my usual turkey gun, but it'll do. Taking that bird was the first shot ever fired from it. I'd say it is off to a good start.

And we have a winner for best screen name this week!!!!!

You get a 5lb tin of Snark, freshly picked, and packaged.

Oh, hell I love this place.

:D

That would be said cousin. When he came up with that screen name I told him he had better get it registered.
