I wish there were something like this nearer minnesota
Same here.

Imagine having a Busse Hog Gathering Up North. We will probably wake up the next day to acres of trees all chopped down and Jerry Busse singing the "uff da" loon song n' using one of his Mistresses as a paddle in one of our famous wooden canoes. I betcha we will have a grand ol' time!

Somebody outta put one together, the hardest part, is the location.
Where is it gonna go down?
Most groups will rent a few spaces at a state campground.
Better than nothing, but less than ideal.

Imagine 10 to 30 other Hogs hanging out around a huge fire. All have brought their busse and kin, laid out on a table for you to lay your dirty hooves on.
Your belly is full of some large chunk of cow, Bread and cheese.
Single malt scotch is being passed around the fire and the smell in the air , whisky Cavendish or cherry.
Of course Iron Maiden in the background.
"Fear of the dark" or "hallowed be thy name".
Yeah, exactly.
Add in some crunchy cheetos and hostess cherry pies it'd be just about right

I just realized that since this will be a Becker Knife gathering, if any of the Hogs came to this gathering, there will be a lot of broken becker knives and plenty of satisfied Busse knives.

You'd be surprised at how many non becker knives are at these things. A lot folks get started with a Becker and then get heavily into customs and semi customs, once there was a whole table full of GEC slip joints, lots of Carothers and Siegle customs.

I think what happens with some knife user/collectors is they get bored waiting for a company to come out with its next offering and they discover a whole new world of other blades.
People go through phases.

Negative. I tried breaking one of their cheaper smaller neckers. Like an idiot Even whacked the shit out of it with the spine of my .33 hogfsh. It laughed and asked for more.

I can’t wait had a great time last year. I only had 1 Becker and a hand full of Busse when I showed up. If anyone is in driving range it will be worth showing up. A tri tip we had no string to tie the onions in with.the other pictur is the kitchen area.

OOOOOOOOhhhhh....!!!
I Just moved back from all last year in Madras, Oregon, not too far North of Bend; to return to my 9080' elevation hovel here in Colorado... Wish I could get there then, I really do.
At least One Busse-Blade Lover practices certain customizing on Camillus Beckers, the toughest inexpensive knife-that-was-once-out-there, but no more. Then I could WOW you in person with a look like this, Linked Here:

And an Inner View:

Notice No Knots Visible: A Clean Machine... All Eight Knots to the Paracord D-Guard Wrap are within Well-Pockets within the Green Ghost G10 that I made while crafting those handles, All By Hand... As Shown in that Second Link.

Alas, to not be able to attend...

Of Course, I'd bring my Busse Blades as well; Mama didn't raise No Fool...
And I don't leave Home without them in any event. That might be the Very Moment When the SHTF, No?
My plan is after having experienced those Handle (and Blade Finish) Mods, to then Tackle my Busse Variant handle project in Awesome Thick Blue & Black G10 material. I am Very Excited about this prospect, and didn't wish to ruin anything for my Busse, so practiced on the Cammie Campanion first, as shown. It's also ergo~ in all three dimensions, As It Should Be...! I've had/used this blade for longer than I've known about Busse knives, so it needed "some new clothes..."
Perhaps this Spring for the Busse Handle Mods... Stay Tuned...
Maybe I'll be able to actually post PHOTOS by then, instead of just Links.
But the Curious will Press In... 🗡️
