BeckerWest Spring 2019 Gathering! April 26th, 27th and 28th.

This will be the 16th get together here in the great Pacific NorthWest just outside of Eugene, OR.
Come one, come all! You need not be an official Beckerhead to attend.

What can you expect when you show up to BeckerWest?

There will be food, fire, strong drink, contests, and general merriment! Knives, guns, beards...you get the idea.
There hasn't been an age limit in the past. Just use your best judgment on bringing kids along.
Most of the attendees will not use a filter.

Friday- Guests arrive, folks hanging out, setting up camp, a lot of B.S.ing, a fun night around the camp.
Saturday- Big breakfasts, contests, lot's of food, usually not as rowdy as Friday night.
Sunday- Breakfast, camp clean up, trash is picked up, and everyone is usually out by Noon.

"What should I bring?"

-Bacon
-Camp stove
-Food, drink, camp chairs for sure.
-Tent, hammock, or some form of shelter.
-Trade items if you want
-Bring some TP, there are no restrooms.
-Folding tables and pop-up canopies are always nice to have around.
-Knives, guns, and gear. Ear and eye protection.
-Bring whatever you need to spend two nights in the woods.
-More bacon

Contests will include,(but are not limited to):

-Chopping
-Tomahawk throwing
-Shooting and/or Slingshot competition
-Fire making

Ideas for new challenges are welcomed, as are fresh ideas for the standard contests.

Rules: Petty simple...

1. -Absolutely NO guns and booze! If you're drinking, you're not packing.
2. -NO dogs!
3. -Take your trash home with you!

If you haven't attended a BeckerWest gathering, come on out! It's a lot of fun!
If you can't get the time off work, well... you might as well quit your job because you won't want to miss this!
Looking forward to seeing everyone. See you there!

God I love BeckerWest!!
I take 2 days of vacation for both the Spring and Fall gatherings.
These are camp outs with good friends that I wouldn’t miss for the world!

I'm in! My brother might come with as well but that remains to be seen.

I’m in, time will tell if my brother and friend will be in as well.

This just in!
That weekend is Easter weekend.
Dates may be changing.
Stay tuned...

I've asked the property manager for a change of dates. I've asked for the fourth week of april. One week later. Standing by for a response. Shouldn't be a problem.

Regardless, I am still in. Even if it is on Easter.

Easter is the least(er) of my concerns, but I should be available for the next week as well.

Ohh man, i'd love to be there but hope to make a trip over the pond for my 50th birthday...

If I'm not working I will be there. I'm really needing it.
Edit: I am working that entire weekend. Dangit!!! I really need to go.

I wanted to ask how folks felt about my coming by and saying hi for a day or part of it, say Saturday?
Kind of dip my toe in the water.

Honestly, I am not a big joiner, but this sounds like a group I would like to at least check out.
Then maybe I can contribute more in future years.

I have actually been trying to find a local group, or even another person, to learn/practice outdoor skills with, and have not had much luck.

Not 100% sure I can make it, but will the gate be open during the camp? Or I will I need to coordinate with someone to give me access?

Thanks,
Brome

I just changed shifts again. I should be there Saturday morning.

You are welcome to come for whatever time you'd like. The gate stays unlocked but closed during the event. It's a typical crossarm beam gate like you see on any logging road. Once in a while someone locks it and the newcomer/guest has to hoof it up to camp to get us to go unlock (sorry Snake Doc).
Where you located at?
