I saw a thead on here the other day where someone said something about tweener scales on a BK11. Seemed a bit of a stretch but it got me thinking. I have never been all that enamored with the factory sheath. I like the TDI clip but the sheath itself limits how much handle I can put on the knife. I decided to make the handle like i wanted it then look for a sheath. I wanted the bottle opener exposed and i wanted some support for my index finger. I have large hands and can sometimes barely get them in xl gloves (the ones made in china i suspect). I find these scales much more comfortable and they allow me to use the knife much harder while feeling secure in my grip. Here is what they look like

I like them. The short handle is the one reason I neglect my 11 in favor of the 14. Those scales look like just the thing for the 11.

Gonna be some Tween11 handle-porn soon....you will all cave and buy some! I know how weak y'all are when it comes to pimping out your Beckers!

Bwahahahahahahaha!

Might go and make a BK-11 with a (real) tweener handle after seeing this. Nice work Tommy.

Well, I held out as long as I could. But I just ordered a set of these scales with red liners. They'll look great on my Cliched 11.

I like those scales, Tommy, especially the milled inset.
Now ground the guard/waddle thing away so you have a full first finger groove and that knife will be amazing!

What kind of wood do you usually use for this sort of thing? we've seen your oak and... what's this?

Looks good, everytime I see pics of a necker like these I start to question if I am set on an Izula or not...(I'm still shopping between the two)

Wasatchdan did you grind in the serrations yourself?

You could split the difference RDog and get the BK-14 affectionately known round these parts as the EsKabar since it is blade from an 11 with the handle of an Izula. ;)

The serrated 11 is a River Store Only edition. I like it, gives a different look to the Necker.
