Hi Folks,

I am looking for a beefy and strong tanto folder. Any suggestion? So far, my preference is emerson super socfk.

Thanks
anton

For that, Emerson or Strider would pretty much define what you're looking for.

nothing wrong with a super SOCFK imho, or a regular SOCFK for that matter.

i would get a strider or a emerson myself, never been a big seb fan myself, not that they arent good knives/etc, i just dont care for them.

If you are willing to take advice from somene who has NOT owned any of the knives (me), keep reading.

I would think, from my web research, if you are going above Emerson money, you shoul take a look at Extrema Ratio Fulcrum Tanto Point.

When I've searched for hard use / pry-barish folders, they are the only ones where the main criticism seems to be concise and unanimous "They are OVERBUILT".

I love the strider's. I have a 880T with a BG-42 blade, i like the older models more than the newer ones. If price isn't a problem, go for some of the higher end strider's. SMF for example.

+1 on the a Sebbie with a tanto.

I'll chime in and say the NICA. I have one and it is tuff as nails and came to me hair popping sharp. If you want a limited edition of 200 made, Plaza Cutlery had a few last I checked. That is where I purchased mine.

the ER fulcrum and nemesis are great folders though a bit hard to come by these days and pricey when ya find one, a really good knife though ,i have had a couple of them, swapped 'em off though, i carried a fulcrum a while & liked it a lot.

This pic gives you a good idea of the 880 strider. Super strong blade.

Cold Steel Hatamoto. I had one and this is one AWESOME tanto. There are plenty of good ones listed here though. Good Luck! Kevin:thumbup:
