My mother-in-law used my Schaller "Worker" during Thanksgiving food prep. She said she liked the handle and would like something similar for her birthday.

I am thinking maybe a bird and trout type knife?
3-1/2" blade or longer
$150 price limit

Can anyone suggest a brand and model?

I use a Mora all around for my paring knife. It works great. With a year of use I stropped it twice and today I finally sharpened it properly. Great knife and you can't hurt it, I even run it though to dish washer! Maybe get her 10 of them if you really want to spend $150? :D

I love it when someone comes up with a GOOD practical answer for a knife recommendation. Expensive and custom made is not always the correct answer.
