Been a long time! Old Remington Nehi knife and pull.

Well hello traditional forumites! It's been a while since I've been in these parts and thought I'd pop in. Nothing super special about this knife, just an old Nehi boot knife from Remington (probably a fake) and an antique Remington knife pull. The knife was a gift I gave to my grandfather back in the early 80's and I got it back when he passed away a few years ago. Pretty sure its a reproduction since the tang stamp is from the 20's and the knife is way too new looking. Either way it has a lot of sentimental value since I bought it with my own hard earned money at a gun show when I was 10 or 12 for my granddad. Thought I'd share this one since I haven't in the past. Hope you're all well!

Man, I used to love grape Nehi when I was a kid. The store down the road had the big old cooler that you rolled the lid back, and the bottles were in ice inside. By afternoon, the ice had half melted, and if you had to fish around for your drink, you half froze your hand off. But it did taste great on a hot day.

And nice knife and pick by the way!

Thanks jackknife! Happy to see you pop into this thread. Used to love reading your stories when I was a regular! I guess I need to hop onto that sticky and do some catch up reading on your more recent stories! Hope you and yours are doing really well!!
 
One of the better advertising knifes I have seen. Thanks for posting it. And just as Carl does, I remember those corner store coolers with the ice and the almost frozen grape Nehi. Ah...the collective memory

Ah yeah, the memories. Thanks to flyfishermans post I can feel the freezing cold water around my hand while trying grab a Nehi. There was the Nehi, Coca-cola, Orange soda, and a chocolate drink, Yahoo or something like that. Bobby Ryerson drank a lot of that stuff. Heck, maybe that was what was wrong with him!?:D
