Hello guys. It has been quite some time since I have been around and made a post. I have been a one knife man for quite some time and have finally returned. For all my daily tasks I have been using my faithful scagel fruitport made by gec. This knife has been my main carry since I got it in around 2010 when they were released. It has been a great companion and has seen lots of use through the years.

Since starting my career I have wanted to pick up my first custom slip joint and have recently had the financial means to actually get one. I have admired TA Davison for many years and fortune would have it that a particular knife came up that I was able to purchase. I am excited to say I got the knife in my hands today and am like a kid on Christmas :) . It exceeds my expectations and expect it will be a great companion. If you compare my scagel and my new custom you can see they have some ergonomic similarities. Without further ado I present my old friend and my first custom slip joint. Feel free to ask and questions :). I will post some nicer pictures later when i have a chance to have some day light. I cant wait to put this guy to use!

Welcome back! and Congrats!

Wow that's a nice blade. That's what I like about this forum, I may not be a collector but I appreciate the look for fine equipment of any kind. Can I ask what kind of scales (handle?) are on the new knife. The shiny without being loud is nice.

A fine pickup there! Welcome back and a pleasure to make your acquaintance. What will become of that beauty of a northwoods though?

Welcome back and congrats on the new acquisition.

I also love TA Davison's work - he makes some extremely fine knives and the one you got is no exception.

Enjoy!

Welcome back :)
I see a certain preference towards single bladed slimline trappers...
I really like the clip blade profile on your Davison ;)

They are carbon fiber. They look even better in real :)

For now I will still slip in into the pocket on occasion. However, I want to do something special with it in the long term. It may go to my young nephew when he is older :)
