Been a while, Curly Maple Bowie

Been a while since I posted here, and a while since I made a "traditional" forged Bowie. This one was a replacement for a very patient customer, the original knife I made him was stolen out of my shop last Christmas.

Any how, its a more traditional long clipped Bowie, but with a bit of belly. Blade is 10" and just over 2" wide, hand forged 5160. Guard is bronze, handle is Curly Maple. Still have to put a few more coats of oil on it before it will "seal".

Just want to thank the customer (and all my other customers) for being so patient the past few years!

Looks great. Nice to see that you still make traditional style bowies. I like your Fikes inspired knives, but your traditional bowies are darn nice as well.

I dig everything about that one,Matt.
Handle,guard,blade.
Sweet!

wow a retro bowie from Matt. love it man. the guard is quite different than i'm used to...better flow and curves.

Sweet!!!!! Isn't maple great? looks beautriful and darn near foolproof to work. That stuff even makes me look like i know what I am doing.....lol Sorry, but i am going to have to poach your handle design for the 12 inch S-guard bowie i am working on......lol.

I love Matt's knives. Just great kick @ss designs and great value.

I don't remember where I first saw a Lamey knife but I sure did make a mental note of the maker. I find the look of his forged bowies/fighters to be quite striking and appealing.

Why do I just keep coming back to stare at that Bowie?

Must be something about it that stirs my subconscious into admiration.

Just excellent work...
