About a mont ago I brought my girlfriend, dad and brother fishing. My dad doesn't fish much so I help him a bit. My brother fishes with me but still asks questions. I just got him a bait caster and he's picked it up pretty fast. My girlfriend hadn't really fished before me, but I got her into it a bit. This particular day she wasn't really in the mood to fish but I asked her to bring her pole anyways. I fished a while and told her to take my spot and I'd watch. I put on a red and black kinami bait, which I told her she should use, because they had been killing the bass. A 5lb largemouth came out of nowhere and grabbed the bait. She waited patiently for it to take more in, but it turned and tore the bait. She got upset so I grabbed one of my senkos and threw it on. She castes back out a few times and nothing. Staying persistent she castes a few more times and BAM, it hit again. She learned from the best 
. So I said wait... Wait.... Now! She set the hook hard with her Shakespeare ugly stik spinning combo and the fight was on. The drag was screaming. As she was reeling, the fish was taking line in the little pond I fish at and the gears in the reel were skipping due to the rather large fish. She walked backwards from the water so I could get in to grab the fish. The fish was caught on about a 15 yard cast and hit about two feet from shore, dragged out a good 4 yards and was coming in. She fought it hard and eventually got it close enough for me to grab. It was in the 5.5 range. I don't know if you remember my story from a few years back, but this is the same fish she caught years ago. She was very excited. Last time she made me hold the fish, but seeing she did this all by herself, I wanted her to hold it because it would mean a lot to me. So here's the picture!
everyone was able to catch one that day though, all on my senkos. I was never able to see my dad catch a fish, so this was a first in 24 years for me lol.
