Larrin Thomas and Nathan Carothers.

Benchmade's exclusive rights to the AXIS Lock expired, so as Dadpool said, it's crossbar locks for everyone.

WE and other Chinese companies are making good knives, with good quality control and decent heat treat, apparently. Country of origin is still an important consideration for a lot of people.

Crowd-funded knives are a thing, but I don't know if there's a way to tell whether or not you're going to get what you paid for.

The majority of news has been on the metallurgy front. Larrin does a good job of being comprehensive, but reading his work puts you at risk of having your brain hurt from the amount of technical knowledge being stuffed into it. Generally, after a couple pages, I have to go eat a banana, and swing on the tire swing in my enclosure, for a while.

The new hotness is catch and release ckf evo 3.0. I swear does anyone actually own one ? Kidding aside right now the Winterblade Factor seems to be the rage. Everything seems to have either switched to magnacut or being introduced in magnacut. Prices are elevated and a lot of knives are out of stock.

This might not be new, but it is relatively new to me: the amount of excellent makers you will find on BF and the various social media platforms. I typically despise social media but am on Instagram ever day looking at knife porn.
