Sorry if you are all sick of hearing about it. I just wonder if there is any information of substance, YET?

The folder is GREAT!! Bombproof lock, great ergonomics, and INFI. Unfortunately the first run has sold out but if you order now you should get one by 2005 or so. Cheers! -Alan

P.S. Mine is not available for sale or trade

LOL!!!

Yeah, we're ALL drooling and breathing in short breaths, in eager anticipation. I'm sure Jerry would tell us that a great knife, like a great beer, takes time...

Lane,

I never thought about comparing knives to beer. Hmm...continuing with your analogy we should all be glad that Jerry pursued knifemaking rather than brewing. The world needs more Busse knives but I could live without more Black Label.

(Excuse me while I pause for another sip of Pilsner Urquell...it's been a long day)

Still I'm ready for that Nuclear Bottle Opener. All the best, Alan

Yes, Pilsner Urquell, great beer with a refined nose and hoppy taste!

Busse Folder. A great folder!

Out here in the boondocks of W. Washington, I MAY be able to find Pilsner Urquell on a trip to "civilization" (that horrid zone along the I-5 corridor), but I am resigned to never encountering the Yuengling Lager my freinds further east tell about.

Only 65 miles from here is Skagit River Brewing Co. Their Skagit Brown Ale (formerly Steelie Brown Ale, until Steelhead Brewing heard of them and threatened to sue) is truly illustrative of Ben Franklin's dictum: "Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy."

It's too bad they started bottling and stopped the little 2.25 gallon porta-kegs. I guess I'd better think about 1/4 kegs, and get busy on a keg-cooler on the porch...

Perhaps the new BUSSE FOLDER will include a cap lifting notch. I'm waiting... We're all waiting......

No problem. Welcome to Busse Addicts Land.

We're a friendly lot here.

Ever heard of Black Label beer?

p.s. Please send me your e-mail. I have some questions about Brussels. Thank you,
Mike

Never heared about Black Label beer. Is it Belgian, cause we have world's finest beers. But we're supposed to chat about Busse knifes here. My e-mail is fat_cat_be@yahoo.com

Sorry, double tap.

Yeah, right, Lane. Like Carling Black Label brews longer than three or four days...

Given the "gestation period" of this folder, you know it's gotta be a winner.

Well, DonL, I was TRYING to be polite about it. I have a hunch Jerry's favorite Carling Black Label would not greatly impress the microbrew snobs out here in the Northwest. But then again, I can't recall when I've tried Carling Black Label. Maybe I'll go find a sixer, just in honor of Jerry. But there ARE limits. I'm not going back to drinking Heidelberg in keg bottles, like I did occasionally during my senior year in high school...

Maybe I should have compared the folder to a fine wine. I once read an article (long ago, in Playboy, back when some people actually bought it at least partly to read the articles) about some folks dining with the Baron Phillipe Rothschild, and having him pull out a bottle of Chateau Laffitte Rothschild that was 100 years old (and MAGNIFICENT). Let's hope the folder does not take THAT long to "mature."

This Busse folder is great. The blade is thin enough to be a good slicer, but is beefier in the pivot area. The main pivot bolt is 1/4" thick. Yes, you read correctly, the main pivot. It has a second pivot, that not only mades the handle blade juntion incredibly strong, but acts as a super lock. When you open or close the blade these two bolts, spring apart locking the blade and provide lots of steel to hold the blade to the handle. If you want to carry it as a fixed blade, or use a really big baton to beat it into something, you can even keep the two bolts apart with a secondary lock. :p :D

By having the blade a little thicker at the handle, blade, juncture, the hole in the blade where the pivot goes through does not weaken it. The main pivot and several fastners keep the handle secure, no matter how hard you torque it.

The scales on mine are bead blasted dark blue micarta. Now, remember, this is only imaginary, as this prototype is secret.

I came back to add a link to at least one site that has some of the links working to the 1938 War of the Worlds broadcast. This folder would be the perfect knife to have in such a situation.
