hey guys,

I've been busy making knives lately, the first one came out so nice that my father and brother wanted one instantly. But first I needed a fish filletknife!
I 'd like to hear what you think of them! all response/criticism/and tips are welcome!

#1: The first knife I already showed to you in a previous thread

#2: I made the fish filletknife out of steel of a handsaw, which is very very tough steel! I sweared a lot while making this knife, especially while drilling the holes! This is some hard but flexible steel and holds an edge very well. I already tested this knife at sea fishing for cod, and it is perfect!! The handle provides good grip and the steel stains but doesn't rust, ideal!

#3: The third knife I made is for my father, he needed a small hand knife for semi kitchen and small garden/outdoor jobs. He didn't want a perfect finish, he says it gives a knife character. can do that! so there are some scratches from grinding and heat treating visible. Also my first hidden tang knife. Not that beautiful but he makes good use of it.

#4: The fourth knife is for my brothers birthday, he wanted a sturdy but manageable knife with a reversed blood-groove (like my first) which makes it kind of a smaller brother of my first knife. Also polished to a mirror finish.
Instead of pins I used rvs strips with a piece of rubber in between which holds the handle in place.

Again I'd like to hear what you think of them! all response/criticism/and tips are welcome! The next knife will follow soon...

Handlematerial is mahogany, hand sanded and then oiled with antique-oil. It is a simple and cheap material which provides great grip even when wet. They are pretty functional, especially the fishfillet knife is great users knife and is perfect for what it is designed for.

Thanks for the reply! ;)

your first knife, really turned out great! What kind of polisher did you use, handheld or benchtop?

Thanks! I used a bench top polisher with a standard polishing paste from the DIY-store to polish the first knife and the one for my brother.
Got some better pictures of the first knife in a previous thread of this knife.
The other two are less pretty, but they are more like quick and dirty users knives.
