Been carrying one of the limited glass blasted 31 Insingos for a few months and my mind is made up. . .

Good to hear, I don’t have one yet. I’ve been hearing good things about the finish, so it looks like one is in my future.

I have an order in with CRK to have a Tanto blade made / fitted for a StarTac. Its like a 9 month wait but I think Ill have them do the glass blast on it at the same time. A glass blasted Tanto StarTac sounds like a fabulous EDC!

I'm actually of the opposite stance on this. Not diggin' the glass blast at all. The only exception might be to couple with the polished wood-inlays but otherwise....why? The original finish on Chris Reeve's is legendary and unique to them. Yes it picks up snail trails but that's what makes the knife all the more unique and the original finish is way more grippy, ie functional! To me it seems like they wanted to go the route of others with a finish that is combination bead blast and vapor wash but its been done before and other companies use it, CRK is just branding it as "glass blast" as it has an edgy name. Maybe it is blasted with pieces of glass and then its fitting but the finish itself is definitely not an improvement but a watering down if you will of what makes CRK great. If they are testing new finishes and experimenting for fun, great but hope it isn't a permanent thing. Like the saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

~my 2 cents ;)

Favorite blade shape hands down. I need one on the 31 frame and inkosi
