Been collecting Spydies for almost a year...

Hi everyone,

I started collecting Spyderco's almost exactly a year ago, when I bought my first at our only knife show/exhibit (KnivesUK - Tortworth Court Four Pillars). It was the old Rescue, I fell in love with it when I saw it, and by the end of my visit, I walked out with it!

Since then, I have been collecting them as fast as my wallet will allow. I have even moved my EDC to a UKPK (pictured), although this is actually my backup knife, I have recently misplaced my other UKPK flat ground, which I am gutted about.

So starting from top left and working our way down (not that most of you will need telling)

-Stainless combi edge Endura
-Military Titanium
-Rescue (old ATS55 steel)
-Stainless spyderedge Dragonfly
-Spin ( I got married with this one!)
-UKPK combi
-Pingo
-Squeak
-Manix 2 Lightweight trans blue
-Bob Lum Paperstone Tanto Sprint

I also have a Super Blue Dragonfly in the post, as well as a Ti/Damascus Delica from a member of this forum. And I am also having a Pink G10/Carbon fibre UKPK made for me by Cascadi, which hopefully will be here in a few weeks!

So thats me, almost a year on.

What others would you suggest for my ever growing collection? I will be keeping an eye out on the 29th of this month!

All the best, Ben

Nice collection!

I bought may first Spyder about a year and a half ago and am up to around 15 now. I really like that your collection is almost completely different then mine. I have a couple of millies and ukpk's, but different variants than yours.

I'll echo the gents above and recommend a caly and para of some sort. Maybe a South Fork to keep the Lum company?

Hmm, all good suggestions so far. The pm2 is kind of a "must own" for a spyderco collector. The caly 3/3.5 and the chaparral are probably my favorite EDC blades. But my favorite spydies will always be my salt knives. Judging from your collection it seems you don't have anything against spyderedge so I would strongly recommend trying some serrated h1! The salts are just spectacular, tough, lightweight knives and the serrated version of h1 is some tough high performance stuff! The salt line are some of Spydercos most amazing offerings in my opinion. Of course part of the reason I love them is because I'm on the ocean everyday, but you could probably justify owning at least one. I mean, you do live on an island after all!

P.S. That Lum is a beauty. ;)

Nice collection!

Suggestions:
Manix 2 S110V. IMHO, Spydies best knife. I know you have the original Manix LW (I do too), but the S110V is amazing.
PM2 as others have said.
Chaparral CF
Sage

That'll keep you busy for awhile. ;)
