Man how things have changed!
Don't know if anyone remembers me or not. It's prob been a good 8 months to a year since the last time I was on here (blade forums) and more importantly the RAT or should I ESEE page. Let me tell you what that blew my mind when one day I checked that RAT site to see if my long awaited RTAK or TAK was being produced yet by RAT only to find out about the name change which is what brought me back here for some answers. And boy has this page changed too. I still see some familiar names like texastonydobbs (who is now a mod congrats on that tony) shotgunner (also a mod & appears to have sucked mrs shotgunner into this happy disfunctional group) & dyslide. Is bearthedog or boats still around didn't see any recent posts from them? But the numbers have seem to grown a lot (just look at the RAT pack mbr #'s,) guess that is just testament to all of the great things and products that Jeff & Mike do & produce.
Sorry if this is seeming like I am just rambling on but I haven't had a day off in 24 days straight and won't get one off till Sunday so I'm a little off right now between the all the working and the not eating or sleeping much.
So please can someone help catch me up on what has been going on around here. Did Jeff & Mike loose the court case with Ontario? What brought on the name change? And please tell me about any other RAT/ESEE news that I may have missed out on.
Oh and Jeff if you read this thank you for finally producing a RA er ESEE made RTAK type knife in the form of the Junglas. I have been waiting for this knife since you and Mike started RAT cutlery and plan on buying one in the next couple of days so I can have it for my camping trip next weekend. Are you still planing on producing a TAK type knife?
Ok I better stop typing and try to eat something and get some sleep before I really sounding like an idiot.

Hey Brother, welcome back!

Bear is off tramping around the world taking photos.

Boats pops in every now and then to complain then dissappears for another 3 months.

Ontario is paying royalties to Jeff and Mike now, the name change was just an attempt to clear up some of the confusion in the marketplace with other companies having RAT in their names. Everything is still exactly the same except the name.

The Junglas is awesome, your going to love it.

The TAK is dead....... Sorry, I'm as dissappointed as you are.

I think that was everything.

I know, I don't get excited about too many things but I think I could almost be classified as giddy just knowing that I'll soon have it.

So, ESEE4 it is. and now since I don't have to worry about caving in and buying both (cause i know I would have) I can just use that money to buy something else like an ESEE5 for my BOB.

There are still quite a few of the Rat Cutlery knives out in the retail channels. So, depending on who you order from, your ESEE-4 could wind up being an RC-4. (The two knives are identical except for how the name and logo are engraved.) And the photo you see online may not match what you receive. Two weeks ago the ESEE-3MIL I ordered (the photos on the vendor's web page showed the 'new' version) arrived as an RC-3MIL. One week ago the Izula that I ordered from a site with a photo of the Rat Cutlery version arrived as the ESEE Knives version.

I just like the knives. There is a sort of 'coolness factor' to the knives with the new logo, but a knife is just a knife. As was pointed out in another thread, if you use the knife enough the logo wears off...
