Went both yesterday and today to the Syracuse NY Spring Gun Show... Scored on both days with a few new acquisitions for my collection.
One is a Marine Corps style fighting/utility knife made by Kabar in Olean NY. It's a 20 year old "new old stock" commemorative of the Union Razor/Kabar company's 100th year anniversary (1898-1998).
The other is a nib Kabar 1271 "Fighter" model.
And the third is a 30+ year old "new old stock" Buffalo horn handled Parker Cutlery Company Bowie (half horse/half alligator design on the handle's nickel silver butt end). Prices were very good, so my careful searching paid off nicely :)

Nice scores. I only went yesterday. Picked up a Case stag handled whittler and a 1991 Remington mini bullet trapper, with what I believe is ‘staglon’ handles. It has the look of stag/bone, but pretty sure it’s a synthetic material. Fair prices for both, and what I liked best was both deals were sealed with a hand shake.

John
P.S. I tried to upload pics, but they were too large.

Yes, same with my experience... I was able to inspect before making the purchases, no extra costs were added, and an old school gentlemen's handshake to seal each deal.
I go to both shows held each year there, and I've been pretty lucky the past few years in finding things I like, and at very good prices.
I do carefully pick my buying choices.
Quality and good prices can be had at such shows, but one's got'a do a little work to uncover them :)

Btw, hope you can find a way to post up those pics of your Gun Show finds :)

I have the pictures on my phone, but they are too large to upload. I can’t seem to figure out how to make them thumbnails so they are small enough to post.

I too use pics taken with my phone... I then go to tinypic to prepare them for use on the forums. Other than that, I am not savy enough about that sort of stuff to be of any help :(

Sorry to say I wasn't able to make the show. Nice finds! I look forward to seeing more pics.
I use imgur on my Android phone. Find the "direct link" and insert it via the image button above the text box.

There exist photo resizing apps. You can also (at least on an iPhone) email the photos to yourself and the email app will ask you if you want to reduce the file size. Like meako states the files must be under 2mb.

Stunning fixed blades. Congrats on the finds!

Thank you!
The gentleman that sold me the Parker Cutlery Company buffalo horn handled bowie at Sunday's Gun Show, is the same person who sold me this Parker Cutlery Company mother of pearl handled bowie. He sold it to me at the previous Fall Syracuse Gun Show. He had both at that time, but I only had the budget for one of them, and chose the mother of pearl bowie. That said, I was hoping that my luck would allow running into this gentleman again, so that I could purchase the other one. Luck was on my side, and I was grinning from ear to ear as I walked away with the buffalo handled version :)

Nice knves, bro! Am I correct in thinking that the Remington has a "worm groove" pattern on it's scales? I imagine it is delrin, but it's well done in it's appearance :)
Thanks. It does appear to be a worm groove type of pattern to the scales. And I agree that it looks like a type of delrin type of material. I think they may have referred to it as 'staglon' back in the day.

Defense of New Orleans Bowie? Which company produces that model? If you have one, would love to see a picture of it :)
No, sorry, I don't have one.
I think the "every man was half a horse and half an alligator" comes from a song called The Hunters of Kentucky, celebrating the defense of New Orleans from the British, actually after the War of 1812 was over but before the armies in the field knew the war was over. The same song has been blamed for turning the Pennsylvania long rifle into the Kentucky long rifle. The horsey-gator was put on a lot of Sheffield Bowies destined for export to America.
