I have been working on two (very amateur) kiridashi blades out of o1, Anybody got some pics of their kiridashi that they don't mind sharing? Custom or production it doesn't matter, I love the looks of these knives.

I will get some pics of mine later (Nothing special, Just want to share)

Here`s mine, in neon toxic green G10.

So are you asking to see makers who have made kiris? Or anyone that owns kiris.. I am not a maker, but have many kiris... I do have ONE knife I've actually ground out and it is somewhat a kiri.. I might share just for laughs :)

Reserved for photos, possibly.. :D

Any kiridashi is fine by me. Please do show all of yours especially the one you ground yourself, i think it's great to share our work with each other, Motivates me.

This is a great idea of a thread. Ever since I saw my first nice kiridashi, I fell for them aswell. I'm normally not a fan of Oriental style blades, but I like the kiridashi. I've actually started working on one of my own, not out of a blank of steel, but using a butterknife as a rough draft to get the design down first. I'd be too embarrassed to show it, but I want to see what shows up in this thread.

I've made a bunch of these from worn out files, can't seem to throw anything away. Always another use. Pretty easy to forge and file , I don't grind but it should be very easy with one. I probably got the idea from Scott Roush at http://www.bigrockforge.com/index.html , his are beautiful and work good, mine work good. I cut everything from cardboard to wire with the one in my pocket.....Randy
