About the last three months have picked up probably 12 new slipjoints.....got about 6 Masonic folders, including a very sweet pearl handled fob from Schrade....at least 50 years old from the looks of it and some other fine selections-

CANAL STREET #CSC315929 Serpentine Stockman-The 2015 Forum knife and this are the only CSC knives I own. It's a shame they closed down, but am real happy to have gotten some stuff before it becomes too scarce and expensive, picked this one up for $100.00 and am keeping it mint

Camillus Rigging knife with locking marlinspike-this is my third one, trying to find one with a decent blade and no cracks in the covers has been difficult, but there is something about the basic pattern that I find appealing.

Camillus Boy Scout Whittler(x2)-wanted one of these when I was a kid and couldn't afford it. Picked up each on on the auction site for about $50.00. Keeping one just to have it in nice condition and the other am gonna use for wood carving. They are really a handy and useful model, Camillus knew what they were doing when they produced them.

Camillus 75th Anniversary Boy Scout 3 blade-someone had posted a photo of this on the Forums, I had never seen one before and had to have it. Keeping it mint.

Case Select 6347 Serpentine 3-blade stockman- This might just be my favorite factory stockman of all time. LOVE the n/s liners/bolsters(I hate brass with a passion) and the ss blades take and hold a very sharp edge. The attention paid to the Select series is completely worth the extra money, imo. It's got real nice cranberry red jigged bone covers on it, the usual color deviation from side to side, but no white areas. This was a sweet deal at $60.00....am carrying and using the snot out of this model.

Victorinox Orange Alox Farmer-love that orange color, and the Farmer is a very useful pattern. Will keep this one mint.

Hope you all are having fun and finding some good stuff to play with as well!

Best Regards,

STeven, I too re-discovered slipjoints about half a year ago. I have collected what my wife thinks are way too many since then. I had no idea that they are of interest to you, we will have to have a little chat in Solvang.

For sure, Wolfe....I'll bring my collection of custom slipjoints, it's only twelve knives, and show you what trips my trigger.....looking forward to it!!

I love the Vic farmer. It's by far my favorite pattern for outdoors use. I keep mine in my off hand pocket, secured with a paracord lanyard and a nite ize carabiner.

I'll believe it when I see it. :D. Pics please.

I as well have just started to discover slip joints. I come from full tang knives and tactical type folders. As I've gotten older 39 now I feel a deep connection to the more simpliar life and the timeless tradition of slip joints. The more pics I see the more styles I want lol..looks like you've gotten to a good start.

Have been collecting slipjoints since I was in my teens, but didn't get into customs until 10 years ago. Probably have somewhere around 70 slipjoint knives including SAK's....hopefully it's a bit more than a start at this point, lol!

Just been watching the auction site and picking up appealing pieces lately.
Stunning works.
Stunning collection, STeven. WOW !

Doug

Thanks Doug. A well made slipjoint is very appealing, and it took me a long time to get an itch for the customs. Took me a lot longer to find makers that built knives that I found compelling!

Nice selection of knives, Steven. Stag happens to be my favorite cover material. You've got some nice ones there.

I could live without brass too, in an ideal knife world:D Harder to do in the Traditional cosmos though....;)

I'd suggest you get hold of some GEC all steel liner knives too, like this 92 Eureka

Fantastic kick back into traditionals Steven along with the great selection of handmade customs. Some of my favourite makers/nicest guys in that array~

Dont much like carbon steel blades either, unless they are damascus. The only one in the custom collection is Don Hanson's, even the Hampton piece is D2. Have been keeping my eye out for the right GEC, even so, if they do a nice 3 BIG three blade stockman with stag and steel liners, please let me know! Hard to keep up with the way they do their offerings
