I thought I could post here without the grammar police.

Truly is a shame, I come here to post about Knifes and I get
post about grammar. If I wanted that I would have gone to a
Grammar Forum

May as well delete my account I will not be coming back.

happy as a loon
As you should be !
Way to go ! Nice knife.
I love ebony handles.

I really don't like working with Ebony, its nasty wood
Hmmmm . . . I've never thought that.
Cuts nice. Planes nice. Drilling it is a dream.
These are scales for a ball bearing flipper

This is a winding (winking ) stick, hand planed to be a straight edge with edges straight and parallel to a verified ten thousandth of an inch. Just because I could.
When Winking looks like this.JPG
I even cut threads into it on my metal lathe. Sorry for the poor photo; it doesn't do the threads justice they actually came out quite decent.

You want nasty wood check out the purple heart in the work bench in this last photo.
Tiny insidious splinters. The wood smells like dirty feet when cut. Chips and tears out if the cutting tools aren't tuned for this stuff.
It made a great work bench though. Very heavy, super dense and strong, fairly inexpensive, doesn't require finish to look great. Has an interesting surface tack from some very subtle excretion (sap ?).
I am very happy with the end result but stink ? !
Only when cut though; there is no trace of a scent now.

Thank you for posting.
I look forward to seeing your next creation !

And I have a bit more shaping to do, a quick run down, the steel is a old buggy leaf spring
the grips are Ebony, one of the sides I found a small chunk of steel, I was able to work it out and happy as a loon, I really don't like working with Ebony, its nasty wood until the finish
product show its true beauty the steel started about 1/4 in thick, since the knife will be used for skinning large animals I decided to work the steel down to a nice thin blade 1/8th thick.

Its about 2 foot long and plenty of material to weld up the taped end and do a bit of forge welding and folding. I don't do much pre-planning I just get the metal and it shows me what needs to be removed.

Your lack of punctuation and overall poor grammar made this a chore to read. I hope you enjoy your knife.

Not too nice of a thing to say. I understood perfectly what he intended on expressing.

Great knife N NDtreehugger

I understand perfectly how to mow the lawn. It's still a chore.

I'm not sure why it is you think it isn't very nice either. Are you suggesting that his punctuation and grammar were good?

It's constructive criticism. Taking a bit more time and care with his posts would make them easier and more enjoyable to read. Would you read a book that was one long run-on sentence with only commas thrown in at random intervals?

Putting so little effort into crafting a message meant for someone else to read is disrespectful. Failing to point it out only further excuses it.

If I may throw in my two cents : this is a very attractive knife ! The blade profile and the ebony scales are an absolute success. However, the full (full stock) tang makes it heavier than necessary and definitely handle heavy. Something I tend to actively dislike. I understand there are additional manufacturing steps involved in making a tapered tang but they would be totally worth it. This knife with said (very) tapered tang, I would buy in a heartbeat...

Looks like a nice, usable skinning knife, thanks for sharing!

The knife looks great. I understood fine what you said and this is a knife forum, not a grammar forum and the knife looks really good. Some folks are a bit stiff, don't let them turn you away from the forums, theres plenty of others enjoying looking at your knife. Post more and ignore the haters.

Goodness gracious, that seems like a bit of an overreaction to one person commenting about grammar.

While TLE’s comment was certainly unnecessary (your post was short enough that it wasn’t exactly difficult to parse), if this is your reaction to non-aggressive criticism... you should probably stay off the social internet altogether. It gets significantly worse than slightly pointed digs about punctuation.

In the threads current state it should just be closed and forgotten but OP made a nice looking blade so he deserves credit for that. It kind of makes me think of Charlie Mike's work.... RIP
