I've been practicing, a bit. Here are some I've been working on. The two with micarta handles are done using stock removal, the rest are forged. As always, any and all feedback is appreciated!

that nessmuky unit needs to have a slightly less pointy butt, and a few less pins- otherwise it's the best of the bunch and actually a pretty good pattern.
Keep up the good work! You're doing better than me :)

I like them!

I like the last one, I have some old hay rake tines and forged an intergal, have not finished it yet.

I spent abort four hours last night filing, and I've got about two more left, before I have enough stock removed to get a good space for the junction of the bolster and handle. I really need to learn how to fuller, accurately. I've been using a 2# hammer and a framing hammer, and made a makeshift fullering tool that has successfully pissed me off... I've also got to get my forge hotter.

I would love to see the hay rake tine integrals! I've got two head bolts and two rocker arm pins from a large Cummings engine I got from the scrap pile at work. They all seem to be pretty good steel. Im not up to forging the 1 1/4" pins yet, though...
