...for a looooooooong time. However I've been wondering what are its grits? Medium is 600 I've heard, but what about the fine side?

Can't tell you what grit the white side is but I use that stone more than any other I own and when used right its all I need except when I reprofile an edge . I say you can't go wrong with a double stuff easy to use and carry if you like a more polished edge a simple strop after the white side should be all you need .

I would say get one! You won't be disappointed.... It's a great stone to keep em sharp! Easy to take with you too. I love mine

Below, I've quoted Komitadjie's most recent update to his 'Grand Unified Grit Chart' sticky (seen at the top section of the Maint page; link below). Depending on which grit standard you compare to, there will be some very wide variation in the spec'd number for grit rating. The Fine (white) side of the DoubleStuff hone will be the same as all of Spyderco's 'Fine' ceramics, be it the Sharpmaker rods, or their larger bench stones. The grading can be seen in the 'Spyderco' column near the right side of the quoted chart (keep in mind, the numbers reflect only an estimation, based on the typical finish left by each, as compared to all the other abrasives listed in the chart):

Hey, glad it's helped 'ya out! :)

New revision, I've re-sorted the EdgePro stock stones to reflect the response from Boride that they are FEPA-F graded. This casts some doubt on the numbers for the tapes, given that the 2K tape is now considerably more coarse than the 1K stone... So I've moved the tapes to approximate values.

It's the same as the white side as the double stuff :) You'll love it! It will put a fairly polished edge on your blade
