As many of you know I live and die Large Regulars. I will have one in my pocket literally until God sees it fit to take me off of this planet. However, with my recent pickup of my first, and VERY impressive large micarta Insingo I decided to pull the trigger on a newer knife once again. I looked at it, read the stats, and had to buy a new C.F. 25. I just had to. I have owned five 25s since they were released and it seems like you never know what you are going to get. I am not for a second saying that they weren't (with one exception) all great knives but they all had varying degrees of lockup ranging from super early to almost pegged. They all had varying degrees of smoothness right out of the box, and well, they were all different. Plus, and I know this may sound strange, some were razor sharp and others were just plain dull. All Brand new of course.
So after seeing the carbon fiber 25s make their initial rounds I couldn't think of a better new style knife to add to my arsenal. I can't wait for it to show up. It really is considerably lighter and I'm hoping that this in turn gives it a better blade to handle weight ratio. I don't know the exact specs but the handle on the 25s always felt so heavy to me compared to earlier versions of the Sebenza. Probably the beefed up pivot I'm sure. But it just felt more like an Umnuumzaan to me than a Sebenza.
Well, I'm hoping that this will soon be a thought of the past. I contemplated buying one when they were first released but being a Large Regular guy I decided against it until today when I just couldn't stop looking at it. If anyone has a couple of pics or some insight of what I have gotten myself into I would greatly appreciate the input. I'm hoping this will be one of the greatest Sebenzas yet but I owned both versions of the carbon fiber 21 and really didn't like either. By both I am referring to one of the first 50 which had totally different carbon fiber from the regular production versions. But that's a whole other story. Anyways, your guys opinion is ALWAYS welcomed and I really like to hear what you have to say. So if you have a second please lay it on me. Pictures would be great :).

I'm a big fan of carbon fiber, I don't feel the CF has better grip than the Ti slab, it's just cool as hell. I did have to get used to the weight difference. I look at the 25 as being a 21 and Umnumzaan rolled into one knife with it leaning toward the Umnumzaan more than the 21. The first 25 I got was with the pinned stop pin. Sent it to Berry H and had a CF scale made for it. Been loving it ever since. I like them, have 5 of them. I use the Umnumzaan and 25 for work, and carry the 21 small, large, regular for non work carry. It works for me.

Nice choice on the CF '25.

They all had varying degrees of smoothness right out of the box, and well, they were all different.

The rougher knives probably just needed to be used. My '25 was not smooth at all when I bought it, I wore out my heavily calloused thumb trying to break the knife in, then one day it was smooth.
