I've been wondering this for years now. When I sharpen a knife, should i sharpen the bevel and the edge at the same time to even the wear? Or no? Also, i just got a brand new mili, it feels a bit rough, but nothing unbearable. It's not gritty, just not smooth like my griptilian. Would taking it apart, cleaning all the parts and oiling it with either hoppes gun oil, or 3 in 1 (which in your opinions should i use?), make it smoother? Then loctiting? Also, the edge on the mili i see a ton of lines from grinding, should i take this to the sharpmaker on the bevel setting to smooth out, will it smooth with use, or does it not even matter?

Use miltech or BM blue lube or other specific knife lube, oils like 3 in 1 get gummy and slow the action. Gun oils are for guns.

There are many was too skin the cat, I personally like single bevels (no micro) and keep the edge touched up on my finishing stone. for me it makes maintenance easier and means I can just use a finishing stone when needed, some knives I've only sharpened once and simply touched up when needed. On average I'd say every 6 months to a year a knife should be ran through a complete sharpening but between that you really shouldn't need less than 1k.

Just sharpen your millie, it will be sharper when your done so why not? :)
