Beer Bottle Breaking

Are you sure the bottle wasn't scored with a glass cutter so that it was extremely fragile. Just a little bit of are pressure would then make it easy to break.
 
they are buddist monks, they dont cheat. i think i know how it was done and the science behind it but im not sure if im right. what i think it is that when he hits the top of the beer bottle the pressure from the beer foaming plus the shock wave are what make the bottle break. you can experience the same foaming action by taking a beer bottle and set it on the table and tap it on top with another beer bottle and the beer will over flow.
 
I like to drink the beer and put the bottles in a hot campfire and turn them into Dali bottle shapes.
 
I have personally watched this done. No tricks, in fact we put water into empty beer bottles, not wanting to waste beer, and with a little training several others did this. I could not for some reason, but did watch as several others did. The trick, I believe, is to cup your palm just right and lots of hand speed.
 
I can't view it from work, but if it is the "blowing the bottom out" with the palm of your hand trick, it is fairly easy. The air pressure breaks it.
 
anyone ever popped someone's ear drum with their hand? :D or had it done to them? (this hurts! :mad: )

this works on the same principle. if you cup your hand just right and hit the bottle just right the air pressure will push against the liquid hard enough to pop out the bottom. I was only ever able to do it a couple times myself but I used to train with a couple guys who'd do it all the time like party tricks.
 
I would be curious to see if it could done if the beer was flat.
 
Yeah, it doesn't matter. This is one of those situations where you might as well have a few before doing it because you need to give it a pretty decent smack. Otherwise it hurts. :D
 
I've seen it done before, no magic behind it. And yes, the guy who did it drank the beer and then filled the bottle with water :D

Have also seen the trick of tapping someone else bottle with your own and making it fizz all over the place. Pretty surprising how well it works.
 
Wasting beer is a felony isn't it? If it isn't a felony, it should be. Or at least a misdemeanor.
 
it's all simple Hydraulics,, that bottle has to be almost full with in
about ~ 1/2" to 3/4" to the neck,, a Raito thing,,
water will not compress as air doesn't compress well either with water or beer in it.it shortens the brake point for lack of a better way to put it.
cupping your hand that you are holding the bottle with will direct more air into it also..with most the bottle full and having the wide part for air to force into the bottle is forced apart. pop

Wasting beer, or as we call it up here, alcohol abuse, is at least a misdemeanor. Because the more I miss, the meaner I get.
