Beer Prices Rise !

No suprise to me. I predicted higher food prices if we started burning our crops like lit's gasoline. I expect all food prices will skyrocket similarly.

To think they're already charging 10$ a six pack for Great Lakes Christmas Ale...

The hop shortage is very disturbing. Especially in light of the fact that craft beers are soaring in popularity.

If you have acerage that's not being used, now might be a good time to start establishing some hops ;)

While the NW is the hops center now in the old days it was in central NY in and around Syracuse !! The Erie canal provided transportation. I worked in a building in Schenectady that was originally a brewery 100 years ago !

yep. i was down at Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown,NY yesterday and part of the tour explained that the entire valley was hops at the turn of the century until the blight and Prohibition killed the business.

We have warehouses full of hops right now, and all of them are spoken for.

Matter of fact, the air smells like apples and hops right now.

I won't tell you what burning hops smell like, or the aftermath.

:barf:

Hey Guys...

You think you've got it bad..

Should come and hang out in Canada sometime...

A twofour of plain ole Blue or Canadian is $30 +

You can get the cheap stuff for $24 per twofour but it's pretty much Swill...

Hey Eric

Try Carling Lager for a buck a beer. I drink it and it is great. It is made by Molson and I did a survey a year or so back where it was obvious Molson were concerned about the influx of discount beers. Their answer was to produce one. It is better than Lakeport. I am a professional drinker, and I only drink Molson Canadian on Canada Day! :) If money were no option, I would drink Creemore or Steam Whistle.
