Hey guys, I just picked up a Kabar Mark 1 with a stacked leather handle and was wondering how do I go about beeswaxing the handle? I have done quite a bit of research but I am still inconclusive on which method to use. Let me know what your guys' opinions are!
Also, is it safe to put my entire knife in the oven just to heat up the leather a bit before applying the wax?

Thanks

Just leave it out in the sun or heat it up with a heat gun/ hair dryer a little before you apply the wax. Then a vigorous buff with an old T-shirt will work the wax in.

Sorry I haven't used pure beeswax so I can't offer advice on that :D

I'd sit it on a window with plenty of sunshine to warm up the leather
Just get some Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP, it's what I use for my leather.

warm the leather as stated above, apply the wax and reapply heat [hair dryer or heat gun on LOW] and then buff.

Check out sno-seal, its a boot/leather waterproofing product, awesome stuff. It also helps keep the leather from drying out. There is beeswax in it.
