Hand carved Shibuichi beetles.
Sterling silver blades of wheat with 14k gold heads.
Beetles have 18k pincers and antenna.
Background is textured bronze with patina.
Liners are textured stainless steel.
Blade and backspring are W2.
The blade is a dagger profile with a Hamon.
Blade pull is 14k red gold.

Blade length 3 24/64"
closed 4"
overall 7 34/64"

In my opinion this is by far the most impresive knife I have made to date. Certainly the most technically challenging. Please feel free to tell me what you think. I know beetles are not for everyone.

Thanks for looking

that is super cool! Great looking piece.

That is beautiful! I just love the texture and patina of everything, and that gold pull bar is a really cool feature. The double-edged look is really nice. It makes the knife look like a double-bladed kozuka! I really want to see more small, ornate knives like this.

Thank you everybody for the very kind words. It feels good to know others like it as much as I do.
This knife is on the exchange.

Mark,
WONDERFUL ARTISTRY and GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP.
I am glad that You posted this here also, besides the exchange.
THIS IS ONE NOT TO MISS.

Exceptional job my friend.....I enjoy the pieces I have from you but this thing is amazing, it has ALL the 'features' I've come to look for. :)

Very neat folder.

At first I thought it was a slip joint. But after further oogling, it appears to be a lock back.
