Plumber posted a photo of a bunch of knives he procured on the bay .
In that bundle was a neglected 2 dot 110 . Which I noticed and procured from him . Upon its arrival I took some before and after photos as he'll post later . This older 110 cleaned up really nice . Noticing its heft, I weighed it along with several others and the range was; from (in pounds) .442 a 1991 FG to this 2 dot at .477lb.. Buck really built these models to last . DM

David sent me these "before" pictures to post for him. I can't wait to see how David's own spa job comes out on this one.

Thanks Ima and 338 . Plumber's so good about items like this . The blade turned out to be full but the brass was harder to polish than I thought yet I was able to get most of the dents out . Its ebony has really nice color and turned into a nice carry knife . I'm amazed at how well Buck made these 35 yrs. ago . A real hand full of knife for a man . DM

It still has at least another 35 years of life left in it David :D.
You did a nice job on it.

It is hard to get out some of the really deep dings. I've only done a couple, and its been awhile. I used 4 or 5 different grades of wet paper, and was able to get all the scratches out and most of the dings, but some of the dings, were a little to deep to get all the way out. I didn't want to remove to much brass and have the bolsters lower than the scales, or not be flat.

After seeing yours, its got me to thinking, I may have to pick up an old 112 beater and fix it up. Its rewarding, and therapeutic :D

Well done, David! I just finished a 2 dot which is now my EDC and I am loving it. There is nothing like a little 'sweat equity' in a knife to make it your own.

Thanks 338 and APF . 'Sweat equity' I like that ! This ones not going in my collection/display as I already have two, 2 dots in there (a small and large pin version) .
I'm going to carry and use it some . The heft I like and the lock up plus it has upgrade steel with solid ebony slabs then it came with a leather sheath . I may even do some testing with it . Heck, I thought it might could field dress a buck . ;) DM

:D That one does have nice lookin scales.

I'm almost afraid to pick up another one, because the only two times I have cut myself, were both with 110's after sharpening

It says a lot about the blades, because its certainly not my sharpening skills :D

I agree 338, these tend to take a good edge . I knew you learned to sharpen well over the years . Just don't remember to throw in the the band-aids . ;) DM

Have any of you guys measured the blades to see if they changed over the years like the 121 ? I can see the pivot pin changed diameter, its smaller than the current models (5/32) . DM

Here's a couple more that David sent me to post. I'd completely forgotten the "etch" on the back side of the tang.

Yes, thanks Post it is quite stunning . I've noticed thru the years that the more blonde slabs seems to be placed on the opposite side of the blade stamp . Has any one else seen this ? DM
