And I'm not done yet. Satin Jack in the process of being customized. As delivered, the edge was a little too thick and the grind only went up about halfway to the spine. I put a new 80 grit belt on my Bader BIII and went to grinding. When I get done, the black will all be gone, and the grind will be nice and thin all the way to the spine. May not be quite as durable, but I will bet my Flying Tiger that it will slice and dice better!

Here is the before picture.

Cool! I just put a thin convex edge on my Battle Rat myself. The chopping performance is unbelievable.

Hey Andrew,

Could you post a pic of your modified edge battle rat on the Swamp Rat Forum?

John

I am really looking forward to seeing more pics when the knife progresses. Looks kind of cool now with just the satin grinds.

I am a little jealous though, I would just love a Bader

Jamie,
I am working on finding a Satin Jack at this very moment. (see the for trade forum) When I do, there's this guy in NY it has to go to for similiar treatment :) :)

Danbo:
Was your SJ a 3/16" or a 1/4" model? Does the 1/4" model grind line go to the spine?

Chad

Chad,

I saw that. Sebenza's are sweet, but I know what your tastes are. ;) When you get your Badger you will have a better idea of what you want and don't want. She's done and will be heading home Monday

Both of my Satin Jacks are 3/16" stock. I have not seen the 1/4" version, so I dont know where the grind goes up to.
