so after much debate that in the end will ether be famous or infamous I pulled the trigger on a brand spanking new K .M. G. The shop was all in a stir to day. We started the morning with andy and I caring the box to "the place" Andy had ben saving for me in the middle of our 16' grinder table. After several "I forgot that" trips to the hardware store and Andy and Dylan checking on me every 15 min. like expectant grand fathers we had it up and running after lunch. I am so exited that I may get one more batch out before surgery. as you can tell mine is the shine one on the end!

Congrats man, I want one so bad! If you don't mind me asking, what did you get on it? Platen and slack belt?

Congratulations, man! That's so awesome for you.

I got mine about two weeks ago. I'm all over that rotary platen. Who knew life could be so easy?

KFU I am not a man of half measures so I went whole hog. 8" wheel, flat patten, rotary platten my next installment will be a 1" wheel

Well good for you Dan, continued success my man

You and me both, Chris. I would love one. Congrats Dan!! You are in good company there.

Nice rig Dan! I don't even have my grinder all finished but have been eyeing that KMG rotary platten!

Cool. Take one of your pieces along for your surgeon so he'll have something sharp to work with.

Funny you should mention that i had some 3/4" x 1/16" o-1 in the shop and with a new grinder to work with. Well i now have a batch including some saber ground 1/16 o-1 "scalpels" waiting to get handles in the am. It is amazing what one can do when they do not have stand in line for a grinder.

I forgot to take pictures but andy and I came up with a great $17 fix for shadow at th ework face of the kmg. I was using a swing arm desk lamp but the mount kept slipping so we mounted it threw the base plate. I will take pictures tomorrow

This is the second time an apprentice of mine bought and set up a KMG. Im proud of Dan. He is a Knifemaker. His first grinds on the new machine were his best ever too. Tomorrow well finish out the dust coll sys and shoot almost the final vid for the new shop montage.
