I would LOVE to start making some of my own knives. I am pretty good with my hands and have plenty of patience. My other hobby is scale model building so I already have a steady hand and tons of patience so ......
I figure it will be easier to start with building from files. I have a few laying around the house and I like the look and feel of a "lovingly worn" look. I'm not much into the "Bling-Bling" thing. I like the matte finished, military/utility type of blade for myself so I figured that if I started building from files, this would get me started in a direction I want to go. Can you guys & gals direct me to some good informative threads here to help me along. Some good reading material is needed as well so any good books on the subject would be helpful as well. I can get the tools...thats not a problem for me. I just need to know what is needed.
