Beginners Machines

Hello all, i'm new to this forum and knife grinding. I would love to get a new or slightly used KMG but keep thinking it's a huge step when just getting into this hobby. I want to start by sharpening household, restaurant, lawnmower, and other basic blades. I looked at the Grizzly G1015 which is a 2x72 1hp and the Jet J-41002 which is a 2x42 3/4hp. Both are around the $425 mark. Can anyone give me any opinions on these machines? Thanks..Tom

Those grinders are more used for stock removal during knifemaking, and would be huge overkill for sharpening. The spyderco sharpmaker is a popular responce and if this community approves it's usually a good bet.
