i need some good lighting for the studio i'm working on, and i can't decide where to start or what to buy. i'll probably not go with continuous lighting b/c of heat issues, so i'm thinking maybe "monolights."

i am real interested in this kit.

what do you think? good or bad? any recommendations on monolights or AC strobes, or maybe just collecting a whole ton of slaves and piling them up?

thanks!

They've gotten more expensive over the years but Alien Bees are good lights. I haven't used them but saw them being used at Christmas to illuminate a Santa for photos. They were using one of the lower wattage strobes and it lit the scene well.
