I'm off to Vienna, Austria.
Try and be polite and kind to all your Fellow Forumites and others while I am away. I'll try and drop in while I am away, but don't know what the wi-fi will be like where I am.
I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday and get everything you want this year.
Stacy

BTW, my Annual Christmas Thread is already up:

Not sure if I'll get to his house, but plan on visiting:
The Alte Schmiede
A big knife shop in Vienna on Breitenfurter Strasse
A shop visit and interview with Benjamin Kamon
Der Hofjagd und Rüstkammer
An Irish Pub and a Scottish Pub (got to vacation a little bit)

Well, I have good internet, so I can check in.

I had an amazing trip over flying First Calss. I never knew how the rich folks traveled. There was a chef fixing our four-course meals. Seats that turned into beds.
Smooth flight across te Atlantic and western Europe, and got into Vienna ahead of schedule by 15 minutes. Only problem was that our three checked bags did not get on the plane with Judy and me. Seems a lot of other passengers on the flight had the same issue. I suspect the baggage cart didn't make it to load before the plane taxied away. They say they will find it and deliver to my hotel. Hopefully soon. I had put all the essential things in carry-on, so it is mainly just all out clothes and some accessory things. Biggest thing I need that is not here is my power adapter. I have cords and chargers that I put in the carry-on for my hearing aid charger and laptop .. but nothing to plug them into. I'm going to the mall tomorrow and buy a power adapter. The airlines says they will pay for it. If I had thought of it, I could have bought one at the airport before I left for the hotel.

The Christmas market at Stephensplatz is really something. Huge crowds, a huge Christmas tree, and the huge old Kirk looming over it all. My hotel is one block away.

Bags arrived, so I am fully computerized again. Changing clothes was nice.
Computer, phone, and hearing aids charged back up now. Batteries were getting down to 30%.
Vienna is amazing ... and the biere and essen are wonderful.

I promise knife photos later on, but here are some shots so far:
Weihnachtsmarkt am Stephansplatz, Judy and me, Chef on plane trip, cockpit, good food at local restaurants, breakfast room at Domizil (the breakfast tables extend around the corner ... Domizil is our hotel,100 yards from Stephansplatz)

Enjoy your holiday! It looks like you’re having a great time.
Jeff

The shopping district a block away. And a shot of something we don't see back at home.
To make this thread more metalwork related, the hummingbird brooch is a handmade piece I did years ago in gold and silver. The blow-up photo makes it look a bit coarse, but the detail is actually nice.
