behemother vs others

anyone got picture / experience to compare the behemother with the busse 1311 and/or bb13?

thinking of giving myself a birthday gift, not sure yet.

I've got and have used my 1311 for a few years now...it's a great bushwhacker and the heat treat on the steel as close to perfect as I've found in terms of retention compared to ease of touching up the edge. It wrecks briars and honeysuckle and limbs up to thumb size. It's weight/size ratio is outstanding also. It's just a joy to use, everyone needs one, IMHO.

I've been eyeballing a BeHeMo, too. :D

All I've got is Nathan's description that it's got more m"ass" than other similar models, with a more refined grind geared toward cuttting/slicing. So I imagine we'll be able to bury her deep in green limbs >>> if not totally delimb them in one swipe.

And the way the Carothers crew has dialed in the handles on the LC + the refinements in the BC & MC...well, it's just ergonomic nirvana for me. They're worth owning/using for that merit alone, not to mention all the other great stuff!

Get both-- that's my philosophy. :)

Sid aka EurAzn12 EurAzn12 will be your best bet on this topic because so far only 2 of these are in the wild AFAIK:

I don't have those 2 Busse but have the Forsaken Mistress and battle saw which are close in size. If you want pics I can upload some or any other questions?

I'm testing the behemother as I type this :)

Oops, my bad! I should've been more clear:

There are currently only 2 Behemothers in the wild :) one of which you've got. I didnt know what Busse knives you had but had thought that maybe you owned some of their larger choppers! Nathan may also own a Busse but I'm not sure of it or what he may have!

Here’s the run of the mill BC with a 1311 and BB13.

BB13 and BC are fairly close in weight, the 1311 is 5-6 oz lighter.

BB13 and 1311 pob are ~4” in front of ricasso while the BC is ~2”.

While the picture does show the 1311 and BB13 have a blade length advantage, when you hold the BC in it’s “chopper” grip at the rear of the handle, the tip extends out from your hand a near identical distance as the 1311 and the POB from your hand becomes near identical as well.

The BC is extremely well thought out.

They are all excellent blades and you can’t go wrong with any.

very nice pics! i already have the 1311 and bb13 (well used btw, your are pristine ... go use them!)

I did the price check on my end, the behemother seem nicely priced but all the other fee would bring it to about ~1225$ (+/- 25$) CAD (because i would take a sheath too) and this is where i have to say, nice knife but sadly outside of what i can afford :( maybe if i didnt had the other one it would be a nice first chopper

Awesome post. Lots of relevant info.

Thanks!

Also, I highly recommend the micarta/rubber scales. They are SO good. Man, I love CPK.

I originally thought I would prefer them more if it was black micarta with the rubber. I’m sure that would be awesome, but a non-issue after getting these and seeing the contrast with the tan micarta. They look so damn good IMO. The titanium fasteners is the very fat cherry on top. These shout “I am special”, in a good way.
