I was watching the movie on DVD yesterday, at the end, when the guy tries to set up the emergency beacon and helps himself with a knife - what was the knife? couldn't identify it and it keeps bugging me...

It was a regular old red handled Swiss Army Knife...

I'm not sure of that though

Definately a Victorinox SAK. Looks like the camper model, but it's a little difficult to tell from the angle.

it didn't look like SAK to me, the blade was much wider, kinda ka-bar's warthog... quite triangular

it was a closeup of the Can Opener or Bottle opener attachment of an SAK.

I just watched that steaming heap of crap. It was a SAK of some sort. The blade in question was the can opener.

in a completely unrelated event, i watched ocean's eleven for the first time a few days ago, and when they cut those lines at the end, they use a spyderco rescue(i think. rounded end, fully serrated, black frn handle). you have to look very closely as it falls out of his hand and towards the camera. there is about 3 frames where it is visible. heh.

I have seen the movie yesterday. It is a 91 mm Victorinox Spartan (model 1.3603) with the classic swiss army knife red cellidor scales.
