My buddy had a couple of English Bulldogs. They were hilarious in the snow. Like little plows with teeth. But you are correct. It was only for short stints.

I've gone to school with a fresh foot of snow on the ground. The rule was; If the buses can run school stays open.

As I begin to sound like my dad here.

We used to help the bus driver put chains on.
There was one hill, if it was bad he'd have us all move to the back of the bus for rear wheel traction. If it was real bad he'd make us walk down and pick is up at the bottom.

Not snow but....I was in Wisconsin once and it was -35F. I can only guess how cold it was with the wind chill.

The high school kids were standing at the bus stop wearing hoodies and letterman jackets.
